About Lighthouse West Yorkshire

Lighthouse West Yorkshire is a Christ-centred charity and fresh expression of church, established in Leeds in 2014. We reach out to adults who have been battered and bruised by the storms of life, many of whom experience multiple and complex needs, including homelessness, addiction, poverty, trauma, a history of offending and mental health challenges.

Over the past decade, Lighthouse has grown into a thriving Christian community, with over 100 people now calling Lighthouse their church. We operate six days a week across six locations in Leeds, supported by a dedicated team of paid staff and volunteers.

At the heart of Lighthouse is a family-like community where everyone is welcomed, valued and given a sense of belonging. Through regular worship, Christian day centres, Bible study, prayer, therapeutic activities and our Healing Workshops, we provide opportunities for people to explore faith, experience the love of Jesus and grow in their relationship with God and one another.

We offer practical, pastoral and specialist support, responding to the individual needs of those in our community. This includes advocacy, liaison with statutory services, help to access essential support, shared meals, activities and trips. We also provide training, resources and support for other Christian charities, churches and projects seeking to serve marginalised people in their own communities.

Everything we do is rooted in our Christian faith and a desire to share the love of Jesus through the way we welcome, care for and support those in our community.
